Richard and Amy are Married!

I LOVED shooting Richard and Amy's wedding, just as much as I loved shooting their engagement pictures!!!! One of the most unique things about this wedding was the not seeing each other before. They really wanted a lot of photos of the two of them, but they did not want to see each other before the ceremony, and it was going to be too dark after the ceremony to get shots. So... every shot of the two of them before the ceremony, they could not see each other! They could touch, hold hands, etc., but there was no turning around! While having them not see each other was not the easiest task, it was a lot of fun and definitely worth it! Another thing that stood out to me at this wedding was the bonfire after the reception... I LOVED it!!!! It was a completely relaxed atmosphere, and a time to really take in the whole day. It was a perfect wedding!

David and Maritza Are Married!

As usual, I am completely behind on blogging! It was crazy during the holidays, I'm sure you all understand... But as always, it was a wonderful Christmas! This wedding was an extremely special wedding. It was a day called Operation Cupid. Ten military couples who were not able to have a wedding on their own, came together to have a group wedding. One photographer was assigned to every couple, and I was paired with David and Maritza. I could not have been more blessed to have them as my couple! They were unbelievably adorable! They have actually been married a few years already, but unfortunately, never got their wedding. However, shooting them that day, you would swear that they were newlyweds. I truly felt honored to shoot their wedding, and I cannot thank David enough for his time in protecting our country, and for Maritza who is always by his side....

I have to say this is one of my favorite shots of the day, so much emotion, they're glowing....

Matt, Abby and Finn

I LOVED shooting this family! Not only were they fun to shoot, but we went to a great spot in San Diego! I love when photography takes you to new places! I met Matt and Abby through one of my best friends, and so glad I did! Their little boy, Finn, could not be more cute! They truly were one of the sweetest couples, and I'm so glad they gave me the opportunity to shoot their family pictures.

I'm catching-up a bit on blogging my shoots. Mike and Crystal got married in Las Vegas, and I truly felt privileged to shoot their wedding. I have been shooting for the family for the past three years, and I can't thank them enough for everything they have done for me. I have LOVED getting to know the whole family! One of the unique things that truly touched me about this wedding was the fact that Mike was not only marrying Crystal, he made it a point to give little Londyn a ring to show that he was always going to be there for her too, it brought tears to the whole crowd. Crystal, you made a beautiful bride, Londyn, you could not have been more cute, and Mike, it's obvious that you are going to take amazing care of your family...

Sam and Hannah Beach Engagement

In addition to the other engagement shoot I did with my cousin Hannah and her fiancee Sam, we thought it might be fun to do an engagement shoot where they actually got engaged! It was definitely fun! I actually was able to be at their engagement, and photographed it for them (being very careful not to be seen by Hannah until after Sam actually proposed). So for the engagement pictures, we basically retraced the steps they took the night of their engagement. We went to Ruby's (where they at dinner that night), walked the pier, then took advantage of Lifeguard Tower 4 (where Sam did the actual proposal). It was a great morning, and I'm so glad they gave me the chance to take these shots!

I went to high school with Whitney, and played soccer with her for one year, and I can honestly say she is someone that you will never forget, truly an amazing person. That's why I felt honored to be able to take her maternity pictures. Her and Jared fit, in every way, shape and form. I LOVED shooting Richard and Amy's engagement pictures!!!! Not only was the location AMAZING, but they were unbelievably adorable together! We were having so much fun just hanging-out and taking pictures, the time flew by! Before we knew it, it was after dark and we were able to take advantage of the fireworks they brought! We were messing around with them and got some great shots! I also loved how they brought props! They had a couple of chairs they brought from home we were able to use, and they also brought a mini Empire State Building, which is where Richard proposed to Amy, it was so sweet! I have to say that some of the shots reminded me of The Notebook! I truly feel honored to be able to shoot their wedding, look for it in December!

I love these two! They decided to do a move from "Dirty Dancing," I loved it!

It was really hard to choose, but I think this is my favorite one! The love they have for each other is so apparent in this shot, so sweet!

Nick and Tamra are Married!

It was truly a pleasure shooting Nick and Tamra's wedding! The atmosphere could not have been any better, and the people could not have been more nice! My second shooter (Ernest Armendariz) and I could not stop talking about how much fun it was! Nick and Tamra are truly meant for each other, and the whole day confirmed that! I feel honored that I got the opportunity to celebrate their day with them!

Brit and Liz Are Married!

I loved the location Liz and Brit chose for their wedding! It's the Longshadow Vineyard and Winery in Temecula. It is tucked back up in Wine Country, kind of off the beaten path, but that's what I love about it! The staff is extremely friendly, there's a great rustic feel to the whole place, and there are horses around the property! Plus, Liz and Brit were so great to shoot! So relaxed, it really made the whole day relaxed!!! And the bridal party was hilarious, which always makes for a fun day!!!

I have to say this was my favorite shot of the day... It was one of those shots that was not set-up, it just happened, I LOVE those kind of shots!!!!

I don't remember if I have mentioned it before, but I LOVE small weddings! I have decided that the fewer the guests, the better! I love the intimate setting small weddings create, having really close family members and friends to help you celebrate your day, I think it's the best way to go! Then again, a large wedding is all about the party! Anyways, I was glad when I found out Tom and Marissa decided to go with a smaller wedding, it made the whole day a lot of fun! This blog focuses mostly on everything before the reception, just decided to switch it up a bit!

Sam and Hannah

An extremely special couple to me because Hannah is my cousin. I am so glad that I get to shoot their wedding, and had a blast taking their engagement pictures!!! We actually had the opportunity to shoot their actual engagement. Sam had the whole thing planned out and wanted us to come shoot it, without being seen! Thank goodness, we pulled it off, and Hannah said yes! It's been so fun being a part of the whole process, I truly feel privileged!

I think I would have to say this is my favorite shot of the day, it's difficult though because they're such a cute couple!

Tom and Marissa are Engaged

I am really looking forward to Tom and Marissa's wedding! It is actually just a few weeks away, and they have decided to go with a smaller wedding in San Diego. I have always loved the intimate setting of a smaller wedding. Because they are 100% beach-people, they couldn't think of a better place to take their engagement pictures than the beach, so we headed to Balboa. The weather was perfect, the sky a crystal blue, and the afternoon was great!

Eric and Shannon Are Married!!!

Shannon and Eric were such a fun couple! I shot their engagement pictures in Laguna Beach, and couldn't wait for their wedding at Strawberry Farms in Irvine. Their story began years ago when Shannon and her cousin were flipping through each others yearbooks (Shannon lived in Idaho at the time and her cousin in Southern California). They were picking-out the guys they would date if they went to each other's school. Shannon chose Eric, and the rest is history... with a very happy ending! I was honored to shoot their wedding...

Probably my favorite detail of the day, red cowboy boots! And yes, Shannon wore them the whole wedding!

These two have such a cute story! I actually worked with Shannon at Crossroads a few years back, which is how we first met. At that time, her and Eric had just split-up. By the way she talked about him, it seemed like maybe it wasn't over? Well, a few years later, they got back together, and the result... They're getting married!!!! I love hearing stories of how couples got together, and this is definitely one of the best. I can't wait for their wedding! I met Sarah when I worked at Crossroads church a few years back, and now it's time for her to get married! Her and Andrew have been together for years, and I don't think I have met a bride that is more prepared for her wedding! She has everything figured out and the wedding is not until December. It's going to be at The Grand Tradition in Fallbrook, and I can hardly wait. I have attended quiet a few weddings there, but have not shot any yet, so I'm really looking forward to it!

Nick and Tamra

This couple could not have been any more cute! They met in school (Nick lives in Florida and Tamra lives here), and they were such a fun couple to shoot! Their wedding isn't until next year, but because Tamra has to go back to school this fall, she wanted to get as much done as possible with the wedding preparations. It was so nice seeing a couple that was so in love. Nick adores Tamra, and Tamra adores Nick, and it is extremely obvious in their pictures. One of my favorite parts about this shoot is that they brought something that represented them, Nick his drum sticks, and Tamra her guitar, it really personalized the shoot. It truly was a pleasure shooting their engagement pictures, and I can't wait for their wedding!

Photography Stories

So I realized that with my blog, I always just post pictures I take, and really give nothing else, so I thought I would start writing a little more... I'm not sure how many people follow, but this is not just for followers, it's for me too!

First off, I need to put this in writing for everyone to see, because I think it will give me more motivation! I NEED to start exercising! So, this Monday, I'm starting! Please hold me to this! I need people encouraging me! Then, for now I will exercise at least 3 days a week... Hold me to this!!!! And on top of that, I need to start setting time aside daily for my daily devotions! So, it's in writing, I need to do it! So Monday, start exercising and daily devotions!

Now, onto my photo stories! I have had so many AMAZING experiences shooting, and thought that it would be fun to share some of them as I go along! As some of you might know, I shoot for Inland Empire Magazine. I have recently been shooting a lot of doctors for our upcoming doctor's issue. While every doctor I have met has been really interesting and extremely nice, there was one experience that has stood out to me a bit more.

This doctor was in his early forties and has already made a huge impact in the ER division of a local hospital. While I was waiting for him, the lady who set the shoot up showed me around the ER. Honestly, I wasn't sure if I wanted to see, I didn't want to look into the wrong room, and regret it! But, then again, what an opportunity!
So, we began the tour.... The people who work in the ER definitely have to have a certain personality, one that I could only wish to ever have. I admire them for what they see, what they experience, the stress they must go through on a daily basis. As we walk along, young children are lying in the beds, a security guard standing watch outside a room where screams are coming from, an older lady, so tiny beneath the blankets stares blankly out at all of the chaos, almost as if she is just waiting for her time to go, day-dreaming of what it's going to be like not living in this world any more. The lady giving me the tour announces, " This is the trauma room!" As she swings open the door. Should I go in? What if a trauma patient flies through the door and I see something that I won't forget for the rest of my life? But, my feet go in...
Everybody throughout the whole ER goes about their work no matter what noises are going on, what type of people are flying in and out of the doors, they just do their job, and the trauma room was not any different. Thank goodness, I didn't see any blood. But just across from me, there was by what looked to be a young man, covered from head to toe in blankets and tubes.... Sleeping? I wasn't sure? But surrounding him was what looked to be his family, and their faces said it all.... Sadness... Uncertainty... Desperation... Cries for help.... I still wonder if that man is ok? And what was wrong with him?
We leave the trauma room, and about this time the doctor is ready for his shoot. While talking with him, it was interesting to hear what he had to say about his job. I asked how he handled everything? He answered, "I treat it as an emergency I have to take care of, not my own emergency." I guess that's the only way to look at it...

First Fashion Shoot

This was my first fashion shoot, and it was AMAZING!!!! These were shot for Inland Empire Magazine and appeared in the July Issue. The clothes were designed by students at the Art Institute of San Bernardino, and they did a wonderful job! The Art Institute's Fashion Show was recently held at Victoria Gardens, and while I couldn't make it, I heard that it ended up being a really big success. I learned a lot from this shoot, including how much I LOVE shooting fashion!!! I included a picture of all the designers at the very end...

Ashlee and Jason

I have to say that this was one of the funniest bridal parties we have ever shot! The guys were doing something crazy in every shot, and it was definitely not hard to get them to laugh. It really was a lot of fun! One of my favorite parts about this wedding was the ceremony. I loved seeing how Ashlee and Jason looked at one another, it really was so sweet and touching. They were so happy to be getting married, and you could totally tell. The venue was fun too! It was the Tustin Banquet Center, and they really did do a great job with everything. It was truly a pleasure shooting their wedding.

I love these two shots (above and below). One was them trying to be serious, the other, the couldn't hold the laughter in any more!

Brian & Tiana

Another great wedding! This one really meant a lot because of the couple that it was. I have actually known Tiana for years! Her brother and my sister dated at one point, and we all grew-up at the same church together. Plus, we all graduated from the same high school. So, my husband and I both ended up seeing a few people that we had not seen in years! It really was a great night, and Brian and Tiana could not have been more happy! Another wedding to remember....

Hillery & Jeff

I had so much fun with Hillery and Jeff! I actually met Hillery through my older sister, who met her through her boyfriend's work. My sister's boyfriend is a pilot, and so is Jeff, so my sister met Hillery, who introduced her to me, and I'm so glad she did! Hillery is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet, and I felt honored to be able to take these pictures for her and her husband. These were taken a little while ago, so Hillery is actually due soon! Maybe newborn pictures will soon follow....

Elaine & Chadd

I have to say, this was such an AMAZING wedding! Elaine and Chadd were such a great couple, and Elaine was the most organized bride, it was great! Everything ran ahead of schedule, which is unheard of at weddings, and it really was beautiful! My husband (who second shot), and I were so impressed with everything, from the flowers, to the location (Coco Palms, Pomona), to the couple! We had such a good time at this wedding! We really felt honored to shoot it. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Lance and Amalia

This couple was adorable! Even though it ended up being a rainy day, it was a beautiful wedding! Lance and Amalia could not have been more happy to see one another. It was such an emotional ceremony, and you could just see the glow in their eyes. Then, at the reception, they said the most adorable toasts to one another. I actually don't see that a lot, the couple sometimes says a toast to their guests, and while they both did thank their guests, they also said some very touching words to each other. I was honored to be able to shoot their wedding.... (You can see their engagement shoot below, they had a pretty fast engagement.)

I love this shot! The rainy weather made for some amazing clouds!

Molly and Lance

So this couple was adorable! I actually met Molly through the Beverly Hills Bridal Exchange at Dos Lagos in Corona. I have some of my pictures displayed there (an AMAZING place to find bridal gowns, veils, shoes, jewelry, etc.), she saw my work, we met, and here we are! I really had a great time at this shoot. They both came so prepared with great outfit changes, etc. We started off in downtown Riverside, then went to the UCR Botanic Gardens, it was so nice because they were such different locations, so there were a variety of pictures. Plus, they both love to read, so they brought a couple of books we were able to use, which I really enjoyed because you can really see the type of couple they are. I highly encourage that when you take your engagement pictures, bring at least one thing that really represents the two of you, it makes such a big difference! I really can't wait for their wedding, they are such a fun couple to work with. I look forward to what they have planned for their wedding!

This family was hilarious!!!! In addition to having the greatest last name (Starbuck), they are so much fun! We had a blast with the jumping shots (end of the blog), and I had to post the bush shot, it was one of the boys ideas, and I told them I had never taken a shot like that, it was very unique! As you might be able to tell, the whole shoot took place in downtown Riverside, I love shooting there too. It was hard to narrow these shots down, every one was unique, and the facial expressions, priceless......

We had so much fun with Tiana and Brian at Laguna Beach! We started up in the streets, then headed down to the water. The outfits they had were perfect, and Tiana's shoes... adorable! They seriously were such a great couple, and the chemistry they had was so cute!

O My Gosh... An EXTREMLY FUN Couple

This couple, Stephanie and Nate, were so much fun! My husband and I got the chance to shoot this one together, and we had a blast! They saw each other for the first time before the ceremony, at a beautiful park in Redlands, it was such a cute moment! The first two shots are when they first saw one another (Nate's face was just in awe!) Then they held the ceremony and reception at a private home in Yucaipa. It was such a fun wedding! Stephanie could not stop smiling the whole time and I loved it!

I think this might be my favorite shot of the day. They are completely in their own little world.

I thought this shot was hilarious because it looks as if Nate's mom is upset about the whole thing, but she really could not have been more happy! It was just a funny shot!

These were taken down in Old Town Temecula. O my gosh, the place is amazing! There were so many different, unique buildings. We probably went around one full block and hit a bunch of different looks. This couple was so great! Aren't they adorable?!

I shot this wedding with Wedding Tree Photographers, a branch of Jim Kennedy photographers. It's a company that gives couples a chance to have an up-and-coming photographer shoot their wedding at an extremely reasonable price. This couple was great to work with! They were fun, adorable, and it was so much fun being able to be a part of their big day!

One of my favorite parts of shooting family portraits (aside from just being behind the camera) is having family come together. I love that everyone can get together, hang out, and get pictures done at the same time! Every family we have met has been great, and this one is definitely not any different! They are truly an amazing family, full of inspiration, and it was a pleasure to be able to take their pictures.

Senior Pictures

This actually used to be my neighbor. The family moved to Riverside, and we were able to get some great shots for his senior pictures in downtown Riverside. There really are some amazing places down there, so much to work with! I got to see the whole family, and it was so nice seeing all of them and catching up. As you can see there's just so many different options in Riverside. It was a great day!

Fun Family Shoot

This family was so much fun! We went to Dos Lagos on a Sunday morning, and took advantage of the variety of architecture there. It was so quiet throughout the whole place, it felt like we had the entire area to ourselves! They kept my husband and I laughing the entire time, and we just really had a great time! Here are the family pictures we recently shot. My husband was able to be there which was great! The family was so much fun to work with and both my husband and I had a wonderful time! It was so nice meeting everyone. The couple's home where we got married was kind enough to let us use their property again. As always, it was a beautiful setting with a lot to work with.
